Diabetes

Diabetes is the most common and prevalent endocrine disease in the world and more so in India. It is a lifelong problem and in due course of time tends to damage various vital organs of the body. It presents with weakness, easy fatigability, pain in limbs, loss of weight, and increase in urination, thirst and appetite and delayed wound healing. In 50% of cases Diabetes starts without any symptoms.

If not well managed right from the beginning, Diabetes, in due course of time, leads to development of serious complications like heart attack, paralysis, brain haemorrhage, blindness, kidney failure, impotence, ulcers and gangrene of legs.

Thyroid Diseases

Thyroid gland is situated in the middle of the neck and secretes two hormones T3 and T4. These hormones are extremely important and regulate the metabolic functions of all body organs.

When Thyroid works less efficiently, the condition is known as ‘Hypothyroidism’. Symptoms of hypothyroidism include weight gain, swelling, rough skin, premature falling and greying of hair, lethargy, lack of energy, easy fatigability, breathlessness, lack of freshness, cold intolerance, forgetfulness, irritability, constipation, joint pains, menstrual disturbances and infertility.

When the gland secretes more hormones than normal, the condition is known as ‘Hyperthyroidism’ or ‘Thyrotoxicosis’. Symptoms of Thyrotoxicosis include weight loss, tremors, increased sweating, bulging of eyes, palpitation, nervousness, sleeplessness, diarrhoea, breathlessness and menstrual disturbances.

We are equipped with facilities for thyroid hormone levels (T3, T4, FT3, FT4 and TSH), Thyroid antibodies (TPO, TGA), FNAC, Thyroid ultrasound and Thyroid scan for accurate diagnosis and individualized treatment.

Obesity

Obesity is a serious health problem of the modern world. It gives rise to mechanical problems like arthritis, difficulty in walking, shortness of breath, respiratory obstruction, snoring and difficulty in sleep (sleep apnoea).

Obesity also causes serious systemic diseases like diabetes, hypertension, gout, heart diseases, brain stroke, gall bladder stones and certain cancers.

We are offering a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic interventions to provide significant weight reduction. Our methods include Drug therapy, Diet and lifestyle counselling, Yoga, Intra-gastric balloon therapy, Liposuction and Bariatric surgery.

Hirsutism

Male pattern facial hair growth in women

Gynaecomastia

Breast development in males

Lack of sexual development in boys and girls

Sexual (pubertal) development occurs around the age of 12-13 in girls and 15-16 in boys. Due to several reasons the normal course of development may be delayed or may be totally absent.

Precocious puberty

Early (pre-mature) onset of secondary sexual maturation

Growth retardation or short stature

Sexual problems and Infertility

Sexual problems including lack of desire (Libido), painful or dry intercourse, lack of erection and early ejaculation can occur as the result of hormonal dysfunction. These problems may sometimes be associated with inability to conceive.

Menstrual problems

Irregular, painful, heavy or absent periods

Metabolic bone disease

Bone health depends upon the availability of appropriate nutrition, exercise and proper function of certain key hormones including PTH, thyroid hormone and vitamin-D. In the absence of a suitable action of these hormones, bones become fragile and weak (osteoporosis) or soft and malleable (Rickets, Osteomalacia)

Adrenal diseases

Excessive secretion of adrenal hormones causes a disease called Cushing’s Syndrome. In this disease, the patient develops central obesity, hypertension, diabetes, bloating of the body, excessive weakness, osteoporosis and behavioural problems. Deficiency of adrenal hormones can lead to weight loss, weakness, blackening of body, fall of blood pressure and nausea, vomiting (Addison’s disease). Both are extremely serious, yet treatable conditions.

Pituitary diseases

Pituitary gland is situated in the middle of the brain. It is called the master gland because it regulates the function of almost every other gland in the body. Acromegaly is an important Pituitary disease caused by a Growth Hormone secreting tumour. Patients of acromegaly tend to develop rough and thick hands and legs, heavy and big jaw, heavy voice, obesity, severe headache, vomiting and visual defects. After a firm diagnosis the disease can be conclusively treated by surgery.

Ambiguous Genitalia

Sometimes babies are born with ambiguous sex organs which have mixed features of both male and female.
