At Jaypee Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, we cater to the rehabilitative needs of our major specialities ranging from neurology, cardiology, orthopaedics, paediatrics & critical care; supported by major high-end equipments to create a customised exercise program for each patient. We help to overcome disabilities associated with osteoarthritis, cerebral palsy, joint pain, organ transplants, syndromes, physical & age related deformities, occupational diseases, etc. In addition, we also cater to congenital physical deformities in children, prevention and early identification to stimulate growth and development.

The state-of-the-art fully-equipped facility treads the whole length of infrastructural facilities supported by world-class electrotherapy equipments like Gait analysis and training lab, hydrotherapy area, gymnasium, a dedicated occupational therapy area, separate therapy chambers, paediatric rehabilitation area, and so on. We focus on restoring the mobility and functional abilities of an individual after acute illness or an injury like stroke, spinal cord injuries, heart surgery, amputation, joint replacement, sports injuries or spinal disorders, and on reinforcing the earlier vitality in the body thereby strengthening the quality of life by using distinct therapeutic methods like physical exercises, massage therapies, electrotherapy, hydrotherapy, etc.

The Department is supported by high-end equipments to create a customised exercise program for our patients, required for electrotherapy, seconded by intermittent vacuum compression pump, unique software to build customised and unique programmes for quick recovery. The Unweighing System with Gait Training enables partial weight-bearing therapy to be conducted with the assurance of patient comfort and safety, and with convenient access to the patient for manual assistance and observation. The single-point suspension allows unrestricted pelvic rotation wherein the patient can change direction without repositioning the entire patient support system.

The Neurocognitive rehab is required for Brain injury, tumour & aneurysms and anoxic brain damage with primary sensory/ motor dysfunction; Neuro physical services rehab for Parkinsons disease, multiple sclerosis, anoxic brain injuries, motor neuron disease, Guillan Barre syndrome, peripheral neuropathy and muscle diseases with primary sensory / motor dysfunction. Stroke rehab for Strokes with multiple disabilities; Spinal Cord rehab for Traumatic and non-traumatic spinal cord injury, spinal tumour, transverse myelitis & related conditions are handled in an expert manner. The Balance Assessment and Training System (BATS) technology is used in evaluating the underlying cause of impaired balance in patients with neurological illness.
This includes the three-phase rehab program for people with risk factors for ischemic heart disease, stable angina, post angioplasty, post myocardial infarction, post coronary artery bypass grafting, stable chronic heart failure , peripheral vascular disease, Type 2 diabetes mellitus, and valvular heart disease for risk factor reduction and improving effort tolerance.

Specialised programme for patients following joint replacement surgery, shoulder, joint and rotator cuff injuries, tennis and golfers elbow, hand injuries, anterior cruciate ligament tears, hamstring and ankle sprains in persons engaged in outdoor sports like cricket, football, basketball or volleyball, etc. leading to significant pain, strength movement and mobility impairments. This includes physiotherapy sessions at home for people who are unable to visit the facility on regular basis.

This includes rehab for individuals suffering with multiple fractures, arthritis, de-conditioning syndrome, post operative & diabetic complications leading to significant functional mobility and movement impairments.

Sports Injury rehab includes shoulder joint and rotator cuff injuries, tennis and golfers elbow, hand injuries, anterior cruciate ligament tears, cricket, football, basketball or volleyball, etc leading to significant pain, strength, movement and mobility impairments.

This is to rehabilitate individuals who sustain injuries in road accidents and occupational mishaps. The conditions that necessitate admission of patient include multiple fractures as a result of trauma.

Comprehensive services in neuro-developmental therapy for children with developmental delay/cerebral palsy, sensory disabilities, learning disorders (autism), spasticity problems, are treated here.
A complete rehabilitation program involving congenital deformities like patient’s gait, speech, general education, vocational planning, and psychiatric adjustment is well described here.

Comprehensive multi-disciplinary services for ante-natal program for women in child bearing age and neurology, calcium deficiency leading towards Osteoporosis / Osteoarthritis in elderly women, fall prevention programmes for old age women.

Multi-disciplinary rehabilitation program for problems related to elderly people like Alzhiemers disease, dementia, osteoporosis, loss of balance and falls, urinary incontinence, reduction in work capacity is adhered here. A special home-care programme has been designed for the patients who are critically sick to come to the hospital for their regular treatment.

The rehab programme follows specific post-surgical rehabilitation protocols focused on individual treatment options with goals set for the patient to resume normal activities of living as much as possible.

For muscle reduction and strengthening in stroke patients, post-surgery rehab and selective muscle training after injury, and to remediate neck, scapular and lower back pain, the Nerve Conduction Study by Electromyography (EMG) Feedback technology is being used to measure the electrical response of the muscles when contracting.
